Discrepancy in Therapy
Mental health is still a sensitive subject in today’s culture, with current politics and the rise in AI computing not helping make it any easier to discuss or keep our personal lives private. While it is healthier for us as individuals and as a community to bring mental health concerns into the light, we’re not always ready for that or it may not seem safe to do so at times. HIPAA laws already dictate that your information must be kept secret, but with exceptions pending. I know that feeling that you’re safe to discuss your concerns with privacy is an imperative piece to be even willing to come to counseling at all. When billing thru insurance some information is required to be shared frequently such as dates of service and diagnostic codes, but even then I do my best to keep as much of your information out of any corporations hands or servers as I am allowed to. If you’re really concerned about your privacy than it is heavily encouraged to pay for services out of pocket, so that that privacy can be completely guaranteed to your satisfaction. If you have any questions or concerns in regards to how we can work to keep your information private please bring that up during our consultation call and I will be happy to work out what would help put you most at ease.
